Last week (11/17/09) my partner Manny Wallace and I attended Black Tuesday, at Skully's and I have to say that I was treated to a pleasant surprise... The show started at 10:30pm, I arrived around 11pm or so lol (Dark and Lovely DIVA aka DLD time)
When I arrived I was greeted by the sounds of a live band, featuring Saxophonist Terrence Farmer. They did the live verisons of "Blame It On" and "Fcuk Them Other Ni66as" and a couple of other joints... They kept people entertained and I myself wanted an encore... Alas we were in for an even bigger treat!
The event was hosted by Mr. Dez Arnez himself and Benny Blanco. They definitely *kept the party going* along with the DJ's for the night DJ Bern and DJ Mr. King, that kept us on our toes... A R&B performer also performed as well and there was a short intermission, during which I grabbed a Long Island Iced tea that was hella weak *bitter beer face* DJ Bern filled the air with the sounds that move the crowd, BIG UP's to Undfyned Entertainment....
Soooo Searius hit the stage and performed some tracks from "Smart Is The New Gangster" and let us know that "He stands behind his word like a period" as well as some crowd favorites "Ideal Idea", "Incense and Oreos" and "Conscious Love"(my new fav)... he added a special touch during the latter part of his set, by giving out a different colored rose for each of the four songs. He also had a special treat for a female concert goer... She got called up on the stage and Searius kicked the song "Conscious Love" to her along with giving her a rose...
PICS/MUSIC and more on #BlackTuesday after the JUMPPPPP....
Next up was an artist named Snow, that performed a Jay inspired set. He did a couple of songs backed by DJ Mr. King dropping the tracks and him showing us what he was made of.... He was a lilllll bit tipsy, but I enjoyed his performance and the comic relief provided by the host afterwards...
AND then I got tirrreeeeddd! Maybe it's because I drive all day at work, or because I was standing the entire time!?! LOL I caught the beginning portion of Sinatra's performance, and wish I could have seen more... The crowd was still all ears and attentive when I left around 2am (on a Tuesday evening) and I was pleased with all that I had encountered that night... All in all, I had a GREAT time, saw some good friends (Shout out to AU, Toi, Jeff, Staci, and Quincy!) and Black Tuesday was definitely a highlight to my week!
